DescriptionExperiencing a car accident and suffering a head injury as a baby lead Yvonne to develop various illnesses including dyspraxia and lead her to develop the belief that she was being punished by God for being a quarter German. Only now has Yvonne managed to put all the pieces back together and come to terms with her illnesses and the trauma she had suffered. This is a strong and emotional yet influential autobiography. It has helped Yvonne put her traumas behind her, she hopes it will help somebody else to do the same. About the AuthorYvonne Poulson was born Yvonne Forster in July 1929 in Chingford, near Epping Forest, Essex. In 1936 she was sent to a Montessori boarding school and spent her childhood moving between various schools. She got married in 1950 and became Yvonne Poulson, she has three children. In 1964 Yvonne was divorced and now lives in a sheltered housing unit for the elderly in Dulwich. She wrote her book 'Mind Boggled' in response to a book given to her in the street by an evangelist called, 'You Are What You Read'. After working in theatre, print processing, graphics, art therapy and survivors poetry, Yvonne now belongs to Community Building in Britain (CBiB) and takes part in various Council Forums, she has four grandchildren and, in her spare time, paints trees. It is now accepted that her illnesses (various diagnoses) stem from her childhood injury and separation from her parents. She finds renewed hope in the Chipmunka initiative.

E-MAILS FOR THE CHRISTIAN SOUL! "May the Lord continue to bless you and increase your territory. One of my church members has been faithful in sending me your daily devotions for the past few months. I have found the devotions to be very helpful in my own personal walk with the Lord and have shared them with many of my Shipmates here who have been experiencing times of personal difficulty during our extended absence. Again, thank you for doing His work and getting it out to the Fleet."(Lieutenant M.T.) "I just had to drop you a line and let you know that you really are helping me with my spiritual walk. I'm sitting here, at my desk, in tears right now after reading, Grieve Not the Holy Spirit of God. You are such an inspiration and you keep it real at the same time. God bless you and your ministry." (R.W.) "The message sent on 9/11/01 (Be Still and Know) was truly a word in due season. I noticed the time you sent it -it was before any of the attacks happened! BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD - and yesterday (9-11) this country, believers and unbelievers were still. I thank you for allowing the Lord to use you in this way. Your messages are an inspiration to me. May the Lord continue to bless you!"

This book is the finale sequel to the two previous titles: Young but Old and What’s Going On. This three-piece is a walk through my life with a more abstract approach to the world in general without being biased. No matter which book or poem that you read, you or someone you know can relate to one, if not more, of my “wrap this around your mind type” scenarios. The sequel finishes out the life of someone growing up in various circumstances and situations that allows one to mature by witnessing mishaps as well as the brighter days of life but continues to thrive. In the Mind of a Mad Woman is the finale of what we go through in life while attempting to still remain sane in an insane world.

Decades ago, people used to ask, what if they held a war and nobody came? Mendacities, a gently dystopian adventure novel, explores a slightly different take on this idea. What if there never was a war, but the state-controlled media said otherwise? And what if three relatively unusual high-school students accidentally uncovered such a decade-old deception? A fast-paced, mostly light-hearted blend of action, adventure, intrigue, humor, and romance, Mendacities explores what happens when mostly average people from small towns get caught up in the sort of excitement that would not be out of place in an action movie, did it not remain somewhat regrettably grounded by reality and Murphy’s Law.Suitable for ages 15 and up, more or less.

Malapropism - A word or phrase that has been mistaken for another, usually because of its sound rather than its meaning. Everyone has made the mistake of using a word or phrase that they think sounds correct, but in fact is not. Malapropisms make some sense. They have a semantic logic to them, even if that logic makes perfect nonsense. In Going to Hell in a Hen Basket, author Robert Alden Rubin delights in the creative misuse of words and celebrates the verbal and textual flubs that ignore the conventions of proper English. Culled from blogs, the deepest corners of the internet, as well as some of the most esteemed publications, here is a collection of classic malapropisms paired with hilarious illustrations. Some examples include: · adieu, without further - Conflation of bidding adieu (saying goodbye) with ado (complicated doings, ceremony) to mean "without saying anything more." · feeble position - An unborn child in a fetal position seems weak and helpless, which explains the confusion here. The two words also share some sexist cultural and literary associations. Feeble (weak) originates from a Latin word for something to be wept over; fetal (relating to a fetus) originates from the same preliterate Indo-European word that gives us female. · hone in on - Confuses expressions such as finely honed with home in on or zero in on (focus on, locate) and sometimes with horn in on (intrude upon). Homing, as pigeons perform it, often involves flying in narrowing circles until the target is reached. Hone means to sharpen; the malapropism conveys the sense of a carefully sharpened instrument and sometimes cutting in. Perfect for bookworms and wordsmiths, the point here isn't to shame the malapropagandists, but to delight in the twists and turns writers put our language through and to amuse and inform those of us who care about words.

After all, it was Simon’s failed monorail project that left his family destitute, and winning the tournament would surely restore the Darcys’ reputation. Simon sets his sights high, targeting no less than the infamous time-travel device that forever changed the world by transporting scientists, engineers, and artists from the twentieth century. The Mod technology was banned and supposedly destroyed, but Simon is sure he can re-create it. His daring plan draws the attention of Willie G., the Clockwork Canary, London’s sensationalist reporter. Simon soon discovers that Willie is a male guise for Wilhemina Goodenough, the love of his youth, who left him jilted and bitter. He questions her motives even as he falls prey to her unique charm. As the attraction between the two reignites, Simon realizes that this vixen from his past has secrets that could be the key to his future…as long as he can put their history behind him.
